About The Role

Optimus Plus are now looking for a Structural Engineer to join their team on a full-time, on-going contract basis. This role can be based in our Aberdeen or Glasgow office on a hybrid working model where 2 days per week can be worked remotely.


We are seeking candidates with previous structural engineering experience, with a past knowledge of the North Sea brownfield sector and / or asset Structural Integrity Management (SIM). A working knowledge of STAAD Pro and MathCAD will be required for this role and past experience of the North Sea brownfield engineering will be a distinct advantage. Any additional skills in FEA tools, especially SESAM GeniE is preferred.

Key Duties:

• Identify the scope of work required

• Input to project plans and schedules

• Identify areas of concern during any project or study

• Produce cost-effective engineering solutions that are fit for purpose, safe and add value

• Ability to address operational and maintenance issues in the design and liaise with colleagues for the best solution


About You


Our ideal candidate will enjoy team working, will be customer and quality focused, can use their own initiative and will be responsive to our business and client needs.


We’d like you to have a degree in a relevant subject and previous experience in detail design with an understanding of other disciplines. You need to have some experience and an interest in working with AutoDesk products.
