Job Summary

To facilitate and administer Petroleum, Oil and Lube (POL) supplies and facilities for the Unit from within a busy Motor Transport (MT) Team. The incumbent will be required to maintain serviceability of POL facilities and ensure sufficient fuel levels are maintained by monitoring the facilities using the Ground Fuel Management System (GFMS), reporting facilities faults when required, anticipating and ordering POL resupplies, recording of Unit POL spending, providing serviceability of spillage kits and fire safety equipment. Will also be expected to support the MT Transport Team with driving tasks and basic additional administrative tasks in support of Unit activity when required.

This is a full-time post. However, requests for flexible, part-time working and job share will be considered, taking into account at all times the operational needs of the Department. Job Description

The primary role will be oversight of POL facilities including engaging with contractors to maintain serviceability; ensure sufficient fuel levels are stored iaw wider policy; maintain levels to meet Unit operational requirements; organisation of POL waste disposal.

The Job Holder Will Also Be Required To:

  • Ensure safety equipment is supplied and maintained to the required standard at all Unit POL facilities.
  • Conduct a range of driving tasks and basic additional administrative duties as required to support the Motor Transport Department.
  • Record Unit POL spending.
  • Ensure that all professional documentation and qualifications remain current, including mandatory online training.

  • willing to learn new skills and to have the flexibility to undertake overtime when required (essential).

Essential Criteria:

  • Full UK driving licence Cat B, C.
  • Experience of securing loads and transporting Heavy Goods.
  • Willingness to work additional hours (overtime), when required.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Forklift licence, Hazmat (ADR) - training can be provided in role.
  • Cat D, C+E licence.

The Command Team within Hamworthy Barracks acknowledge that this is a demanding work environment and our aim is to provide a great work-life balance.
