Part Time Laboratory Cleaning Assistant

20 hours per week

We are looking for an enthusiastic Laboratory Cleaning Assistant to support the smooth running of our laboratories at our Cramlington site. This is a part-time role ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining clean, safe, and well-organised environments. No previous lab or scientific experience is required — full training will be provided.

Requirements:

• A strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently
• Reliability and punctuality
• Previous cleaning experience is helpful but not essential – full training will be provided
• Comfortable working in a structured, regulated environment
  
  
  

Key roles and responsibilities:

• General cleaning and upkeep of laboratory areas, ensuring a clean and safe working environment
• Sanitising surfaces, equipment, and communal areas in line with safety protocols
• Managing waste disposal and restocking cleaning supplies
• Supporting the lab team by maintaining tidiness and hygiene standards
• Ensuring the lab is always in an audit-ready state

Our Cramlington site, just north of Newcastle, has an established history of cGMP manufacturing services for an array of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), ranging from pilot scale to commercial metric ton scale. The Cramlington Site has more than 100 cubic meters reactor commercial capacity and has been inspected and approved by the MHRA, FDA and other regulatory authorities. The site operates from small scale in the laboratory through to large manufacturing scale. It also offers chemistry and analytical development services.
