Role
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, We are seeking a skilled Control Panel Builder to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering high-quality electrical control systems to our clients across industrial and commercial sectors. You will be responsible for the assembly, wiring, and construction of various control panels in line with project specifications, industry standards, and company quality requirements.

Role
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, We are seeking a skilled Control Panel Builder to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering high-quality electrical control systems to our clients across industrial and commercial sectors. You will be responsible for the assembly, wiring, and construction of various control panels in line with project specifications, industry standards, and company quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Build and wire electrical control panels from schematic diagrams, layouts, and technical drawings.
- Interpret electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring schedules accurately.
- Assemble components including PLCs, relays, contactors, terminal blocks, VFDs, and instrumentation.
- Prepare enclosures, including cutting, drilling, and punching holes for components and cable glands.
- Route and terminate cables and wires neatly, ensuring correct stripping, crimping, and ferrule application.
- Label all components, cables, and wires correctly to ensure clarity for installation and future maintenance.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment (drills, saws, sanders) safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with team members and engineers to complete projects on time and within budget.
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment and strictly follow all health and safety protocols.
- Complete job documentation
- Undertake specialist training as required and keep up to date with statutory and legislative requirements
- Demonstrate and apply the principles of continuous improvement to achieve ‘Best Practice’
Required Skills:
- Mechanical Aptitude: Strong ability to work with hand/power tools and understand complex mechanical layouts.
- Schematic Reading: Proven ability to read and accurately interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
- Precision Assembly: High attention to detail with the ability to assemble components accurately and efficiently.
- Automation Familiarity: Basic understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and automation systems is an advantage.
- NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical Services - Panel Wiring / Panel Builder or Mechanical Manufacture Engineering (fitting and assembly) or equivalent Approved Apprenticeship in Panel Wiring /Panel Building (Required) or Experience in the industry
- ECS Gold Card - Wireman/Panel Builder (Desirable)
- SSSTS (Desirable)
