We have a unique opportunity for a qualified Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner to join us at Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will join the Older Persons Mental Health Community Mental Health Team.
The opportunity comes as part of our strategy to redesign our offer to the older population of Gateshead who experience severe mental health difficulties, and ensures that we are able to deliver evidence based care. It is an exciting time to join the service.
You will work as part of the multidisciplinary team to work alongside service users, families and carers to deliver focused psychologically informed interventions with a commitment to promoting recovery and wellbeing, while maximising independence for the individual.
Work as part of the multidisciplinary team with service users, families, carers to support collaborative decision making about care and treatment.
Deliver a set of wellbeing-focused psychologically informed interventions, aligned to cognitive-behavioural principles, based on the best evidence available, that address problems often experienced by people with severe mental health problems.
Work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring that high quality individualised care is delivered which ensures safety and a commitment to promoting recovery and wellbeing, and maximising independence.
Provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.
Work within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service's policies and procedures.
Based in the North East of England we provide a range of hospital and community health services from our leading facilities, including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Blaydon urgent care centre and Bensham Hospital, all within Gateshead.
Established in 2005, we were one of the first foundation trusts in the country and since then have consistently achieved the highest levels of care for patients.
We now employ around 4,800 staff and currently provide 444 hospital beds across the Gateshead region.
