Role Overview

Role Overview
This dual-role position is essential in maintaining high standards of hygiene across the nursery and supporting the Chef with meal service. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a clean and well-maintained environment for children and staff while also performing kitchen duties.
Key Responsibilities
Housekeeping Duties:
- Ensure all nursery areas, including playrooms, bathrooms, staff rooms, and communal spaces, are cleaned to the highest standard.
- Carry out daily cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and sanitising surfaces.
- Clean and disinfect high-touch areas and equipment in line with nursery policies.
- Manage laundry duties, including washing and drying nursery towels, cleaning cloths and stocking them.
- Ensure that all toilets are regularly cleaned, well-stocked with essential supplies (toilet paper, soap, paper towels), and maintained throughout the day.
- Monitor cleaning supplies and notify management when stock replenishment is needed.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring a hygienic and safe environment for children and staff.
- Kitchen Assistance Duties:
- Support the Chef during meal service by assisting with food preparation and delivering meals to the rooms.
- Wash and sanitise kitchenware, including dishes, utensils, and food preparation areas.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene and safety standards.
- Assist with keeping the kitchen clean, organised, and compliant with nursery policies.
- Support the safe storage of food and kitchen supplies.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
- Good time management skills to complete tasks efficiently.
- Previous experience in a cleaning role would be an advantage.
- Familiarity with cleaning products and equipment is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues and parents.
- Previous experience in a cleaning, housekeeping, or kitchen assistant role (preferred).
- Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety regulations (or willingness to undertake training).
