The Role

As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you'll play a key role in the successful delivery of mechanical packages on projects ranging from 4 million to 20 million. Working closely with Project Managers, Site Teams, Design Engineers, and Clients, you'll be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme, and within budget.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing mechanical works from pre–construction through to commissioning and handover.
  • Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
  • Ensuring all works are delivered in line with programme, quality, and budget requirements.
  • Supporting procurement of mechanical equipment and materials.
  • Reviewing technical drawings and specifications.
  • Monitoring progress, identifying risks, and implementing solutions.
  • Maintaining excellent client relationships and ensuring high standards of health and safety throughout project delivery.

About You

We're looking for candidates who have:

  • Previous experience as a Mechanical Project Engineer within the water, utilities, or civil engineering sectors.
  • Strong experience delivering sewer works, pumping stations, and process/chemical works projects.
  • Experience working on projects valued between 4 million and 20 million.
  • A solid understanding of mechanical installations, project planning, procurement, and commercial awareness.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast–paced project environment.
