We are looking for a Materials Management Specialist, to join our European Materials Management Spare Parts team.
The role can be based in Barcelona (ES), Chertsey (UK) or Botlek (NL).
Reporting to the European & Africa Materials Management Manager you will take ownership of the provisioning & procurement of maintenance spare parts for new Air Products Production plants.
You will identify, specify, and procure the maintenance and capital spare parts for new Air Products productions plants. You will be responsible to execute the technical project work in accordance with project time schedules and budget to ensure spare parts availability from new plant commissioning/start up dates.

Reimagine What’s Possible
We are looking for a Materials Management Specialist, to join our European Materials Management Spare Parts team.
The role can be based in Barcelona (ES), Chertsey (UK) or Botlek (NL).
Reporting to the European & Africa Materials Management Manager you will take ownership of the provisioning & procurement of maintenance spare parts for new Air Products Production plants.
You will identify, specify, and procure the maintenance and capital spare parts for new Air Products productions plants. You will be responsible to execute the technical project work in accordance with project time schedules and budget to ensure spare parts availability from new plant commissioning/start up dates.
As the Materials Management Specialist you will be responsible for:
Proposal and Estimation
- Working on new proposals/class 2 estimates in collaboration with Project Delivery proposal team, and Operational Excellence.
- Attending project kick-off meetings with project team, project procurement, engineering, and logistic teams to gather project’s scope, requirements, and define spare parts procurement strategy.
- Obtaining quotations from vendors for capital and maintenance spares following the European sparing philosophy and guideline.
- Expediting purchase orders, resolving incorrect/late deliveries with vendors, and assisting Accounts Payable with invoice queries.
- Reviewing sparing recommendations with engineering disciplines, maintenance, and Operational Excellence based on plant reliability requirements, plant geography, current company stock holdings, and usage rate.
- Creation and extension of Materials Masters in SAP.
- Creation and issue of requisitions in SAP Project Builder.
- Creation of spare parts Bill of Materials for new equipment.
- Setting up supply chain replenishment in SAP and setting safety stock levels for new plants considering existing inventory and sparing philosophy.
- Maintaining a close liaison with Air Products supply chain warehouses and in-house shipping department, plant support, and maintenance teams to manage the consolidation and distribution of purchased spare parts for new projects.
- Significant experience in SAP is essential.
- Good understanding of Inventory management and experience in Material Resource Planning (MRP).
- Proactivity and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills to support multiple interfaces (internal and external).
- Knowledge of Industrial Gases Supply Chain and Operations engineering work processes.
