JOB TITLE: Marketing Manager

THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Rangers Football Club to join the Commercial & Marketing department. The Marketing Manager will play a key role across all club campaigns and the wider commercial department. From ideation of the concept through to execution of all club marketing deliverables this role is pivotal in the success of our marketing efforts across all club channels, physical branding and digital.

 

The role requires a self-starter, highly motivated individual who can work collaboratively across a matrixed organisation engaging with key stakeholders. A strategic mindset coupled with a passion for brand guardianship & creative thinking is essential. As well as the operational skillset you must be confident working to tight deadlines within a high-performance culture. 

 

The Marketing Manager will be responsible for delivering the future of marketing across all club campaigns (e.g. match day ticket promotion, hospitality offerings, partnership activations, kit launches, events, soccer academies, stadium branding, MyGers memberships). We provide premium experiences across all supporter touchpoints to drive brand desirability, engagement and revenue. You will be part of a consumer focused, diverse team working in a fast-paced environment.

 

We are looking for someone who has an excellent eye for detail, deploying marketing campaigns and editorial content across all touchpoints online and offline. Implementing creative briefs, roll out plans, brand calendars and managing the design process with the inhouse design team throughout the creative process. The Marketing Manager will be leading our marketing department, and so line management and senior stakeholder management is essential.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creating comprehensive marketing plans to promote the club's brand, ticket sales, events, partnerships and key commercial deliverables.
  • Develop brand calendars that are inclusive of the wider commercial departments efforts and spearhead our marketing efforts to align and elevate with these plans.
  • Ensure comprehensive roll out plans are developed relevant to the project ensuring all design briefs and trackers are monitored with the in-house design team ensuring successful outputs.
  • Maintain and enhance the club's brand image and reputation, ensuring consistency across all marketing materials and communications.
  • Take ownership and project lead across a variety of campaigns from ideation, video story boarding and execution.
  • Engage with the club, internal departments and third-party promoters to increase the visibility and appeal of our campaigns, maximising the exposure.
  • Implement efficient ways of working with internal teams and commercial sub-brands to ensure a consistent high standard of communication and marketing support.
  • Exhibit strong, compelling, and coherent presentations.
  • Manage and supervise multiple projects ensuring resources are allocated according to project needs.
  • Ensure seamless communication to our in-house design team to ensure optimised workflows and processes that identify and eliminate the risk of failure. 
  • Develop and maintain a good understanding of the club, its culture and values, and act in the best interests of the club at all times. 
  • Be the primary contact for all marketing efforts
  • Develop and manage the marketing budget, allocating resources effectively to achieve marketing objectives while maximizing ROI.

 

THE CANDIDATE

To become the Marketing Manager at Rangers FC, a strong combination of skills, experience, and passion for football are essential. The key attributes we are looking for in a candidate are:

 

  • Previous experience in a similar role within marketing is preferred or within a high-performance sporting environment. Experience in football marketing would be highly advantageous.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting to changing circumstances and overcoming challenges with resilience and determination.
  • Ability to develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with the club's objectives and brand identity.
  • Effective leadership and team management skills to lead and motivate a marketing team, fostering collaboration and a positive work environment.
  • A creative mindset to develop innovative marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • An ability to articulate concepts and ideas to the wider team or other departments.
  • Keen eye for artistic and technical composition, timing, and detail.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing techniques, including social media management, email marketing, SEO, and content marketing.
  • An ability to identify customer demographics in relation to specific events and target marketing accordingly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling marketing messages and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to work to deadlines and focused attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly with own initiative and as part of a team.
  • An ability to operate and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Able to work flexibly and unsocial hours including evenings, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
