We are not your average workplace.

Ocean Infinity is seeking a Logistics Lead to set the direction, governance and performance of the logistics function within the Supply Chain Management (SCM) team. Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain Management, the role is a senior leadership position and a critical partner to Operations and Projects, enabling safe, reliable and cost-effective delivery of Goods to and from our Fleet and Global sites across Ocean Infinity’s fast-paced maritime robotics environment.

The Logistics Lead is responsible for shaping and deploying logistics strategy, building strong governance and capability, and aligning logistics outcomes to business priorities, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements. Sitting as part of the Supply Chain Leadership Team, the role balances strategic leadership with hands-on coaching on complex transportation, distribution and international logistics activities.

Acting as the senior logistics partner to operational and project stakeholders, the Logistics Lead ensures early engagement, effective planning and robust logistics strategies that support operational readiness and project delivery. The role leads and develops the logistics team, embeds best practice across systems and processes, and drives continuous improvement, value delivery and risk mitigation across the logistics network.

What you will do

  • Define and deploy the logistics strategy and operating model as part of the wider Supply Chain Management function, ensuring alignment to operational, project and business objectives.

  • Lead, mentor and develop the logistics team, setting clear goals, priorities and development plans while building a culture of integrity, collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Flow down SCM objectives and logistics best practice, coaching Logistics Assistants and the Logistics & Compliance Coordinator to establish robust logistics strategies, transportation plans and third-party logistics (3PL) solutions.

  • Approve logistics strategies, transportation approaches, carrier selection methodologies and logistics service provider segmentation frameworks, while coaching on major project shipments and complex logistics challenges.

  • Act as the senior logistics partner to Operations, Projects/PMO, Procurement & Warehousing, Finance, Legal and HSE/ESG, ensuring early engagement and strong alignment to schedules, milestones and operational requirements.

  • Partner with stakeholders to convert business demand into logistics solutions that optimise total cost, service levels, delivery performance, quality, ESG outcomes and operational risk.

  • Own logistics governance, including policies, SOPs, templates and controls, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements and audit readiness.

  • Oversee logistics risk management, trade compliance, ESG initiatives and logistics service provider performance, including carrier segmentation, KPIs, joint improvement plans, issue escalation and performance governance.

  • Own the logistics performance reporting framework and KPIs, providing clear insights on transportation spend, freight cost optimisation, delivery performance, customs compliance, supplier performance, carbon emissions and logistics cost avoidance.

  • Drive digital enablement, automation and continuous improvement across logistics processes and systems (e.g. NetSuite), championing standardisation, simplification and operational excellence.

This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 3 days per week based in our Southampton office.

Who you are

  • 10+ years' experience in logistics with proven leadership of teams, logistics operations and complex stakeholder environments.

  • Demonstrated experience setting logistics strategy, implementing governance and delivering transportation, distribution and total cost optimisation improvements in operationally intense or project-based settings.

  • Experience managing complex international project logistics, including customs compliance, vessel operations, offshore logistics and time-critical shipments.

  • Strong understanding of logistics best practice, policies, procedures and governance, including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements.

  • A credible, influential communicator, comfortable acting as a senior logistics partner and providing constructive challenge and guidance to operational and project leadership.

  • Experienced people leader with a coaching mindset, skilled in capability development, workforce planning, succession planning and prioritisation under high workload.

  • Proficient with ERP systems (e.g. NetSuite), logistics management tools and logistics analytics.

  • Calm under pressure, organised and able to balance strategic planning with hands-on leadership in a fast-paced operational environment.

  • High integrity, strong commercial judgement and a data-driven approach to value, risk and continuous improvement.

Desirable

  • Hold a CILT Level 3 Practitioner Certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain and Operations Management, or an equivalent recognised professional qualification in relevant field.

  • Experience in maritime, offshore, subsea, robotics or project-driven environments.

  • Experience managing global transportation networks, freight forwarding providers and complex international trade compliance requirements.

  • Experience leading logistics risk management, ESG initiatives and audit readiness programmes.
