City: Warrington
Contract type: Full time
The Opportunity

Are you passionate about the role that Landscape Planning and Landscape Design have in addressing climate change? Do you want to work for one of the most sustainable companies in the world and across a wide variety of project types across the water sector?

If so, then we have a new opportunity for a Landscape Architect (or Graduate Landscape Architect) in our Warrington team that could be perfect for you.

Your work will encompass a wide variety of project types and scales but will have primary focus on projects within the Water sector. We are currently leading on a number of exciting and innovative schemes throughout the UK, including on several flagship projects of national importance, design of key wetland areas and other habitat improvements, as well as localised Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS) and stormwater interventions to benefit individual communities.

We would like to hear from Landscape Architects who have a desire to work within landscape planning, and who want to develop their expertise in preparing landscape and visual impact assessments and appraisals. We can offer a wide variety of projects at all pre- and post-planning stages of the planning, design and implementation process.

In this role you will provide creative landscape planning and landscape design input across projects. You will work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders – working collaboratively with Landscape Architects and colleagues from across our multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

You’ll play an important part in contributing to the project work of our Landscape Architecture team. Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • preparing landscape / townscape and visual appraisals and contributing to impact assessments
  • preparing landscape conceptual, outline and detailed designs and contributing to the creation of environmental mitigation design proposals
  • providing input to fee proposals
  • undertaking field and visual survey work for projects across the UK
  • inputting to or preparing landscape specifications and management plans

As a Registered Practice of the Landscape Institute, we will help you further develop your career, working within a supportive environment and alongside around 60 landscape professionals across the UK. We can offer you a friendly and collaborative work environment along with flexible working arrangements including hybrid working based out of our Warrington office. Furthermore, a highly competitive benefits package, a strong culture of learning and development and great range of different projects.

About You

You will either have an undergraduate degree plus post-graduate Diploma in Landscape Architecture or relevant subject, or a master’s degree in Landscape Architecture. Some post-graduate work experience within a landscape architecture practice, or experience of working on landscape projects within a multi-disciplinary consultancy would be beneficial, but not essential.

We are part of a wider Landscape Community of Practice within Stantec of over sixty Landscape Architects within the UK. As well as the daily and one-to-one support offered within our team, there will be opportunities available to work on a wide array of other project types and scales within other aspects of the business. In addition, a mentor can be provided for your Pathway to Chartership (P2C) if required, as well as a personal career development plan.

You will have the ability to develop designs, write reports, and be confident working with industry software including AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Adobe Software (Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign) or similar software packages.

As a proactive and engaged team-player, you’ll enjoy actively supporting colleagues, as well as working collaboratively with other teams within the wider business.

You will share our desire to work with clients and stakeholders to create exceptional places, which provide multiple benefits to people, communities, and the environment.
