Join Our Property Services Team and Help Keep Homes Safe, Secure and Well Maintained

At Progress Housing Group, we’re a not-for-profit housing provider with a clear social purpose: to positively impact people and communities by providing high-quality homes, supporting independence and creating opportunities.

We’re now looking for a skilled Joiner to join our Property Services team on a fixed-term / secondment basis until 31 March 2027. If you’re an experienced tradesperson who takes pride in delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance, enjoys variety in your working day, and wants to make a real difference in communities across the Northwest, we’d love to hear from you.

About The Joiner Role

As our Joiner / Maintenance Joiner, you’ll carry out a wide range of joinery repairs, maintenance and installation work across our properties, both internally and externally. This is a mobile role covering the Northwest, so you’ll need to be organised, reliable and confident working independently.

You’ll be responsible for delivering excellent workmanship across responsive and planned repairs, ensuring every job is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You’ll also play an important role in providing a positive customer experience by keeping appointments, communicating clearly, and treating customers and their homes with respect.

What We Will Give You.

We want you to feel equipped, supported and valued from day one. In return, you’ll receive:

  • Company van for business use, with the option to take it home
  • Power tools provided to help you work efficiently and safely
  • Uniform and PPE
  • Access to training and development opportunities
  • A friendly, supportive and collaborative team environment
  • The opportunity to join a stable, purpose-driven organisation that invests in its people
  • Support for your health, wellbeing and work-life balance
  • Mostly local work across the Northwest, helping to reduce travel time

What We’re Looking For

To succeed in this Joiner role, you’ll need:

  • A recognised joinery qualification such as NVQ or City & Guilds,
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Experience completing a broad range of joinery work, including internal and external repairs
  • Good knowledge of health and safety
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • The ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively

Why Progress Housing Group?

This is more than a joinery job. It’s an opportunity to join an organisation where people are at the heart of what we do, where your skills are valued, and where your work has a direct impact on customers and communities. Progress Housing Group’s mission is rooted in providing high-quality homes, supporting independence and creating opportunities, and our values are central to how we work every day.
