We’re looking for an experienced and forward-thinking IT Systems Specialist to help drive the next phase of our digital transformation journey. What You’ll Be Doing

As our IT Systems Specialist, you’ll play a central role in reviewing, designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise technology solutions aligned to EMR’s Digital Strategy.

You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the business, suppliers, project teams, and IT colleagues to ensure systems are secure, resilient, future-ready, and delivering measurable business value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the review, recommendation, and implementation of innovative IT solutions
  • Deliver system transformation projects and BAU enhancements across business systems
  • Gather and translate technical requirements into scalable solution designs
  • Manage application enhancements, configuration, testing, and releases
  • Maintain architecture diagrams, system integration maps, and technical documentation
  • Support business continuity, resilience, disaster recovery, and service transition planning
  • Investigate and resolve application issues in line with Service Desk SLAs
  • Collaborate with Business Partners and Project Managers to mitigate technical risks
  • Contribute to EMR’s long-term Business Systems Roadmap and Digital Plan
  • Champion modern technologies and communicate technical benefits clearly to non-technical stakeholders

You’ll Bring

  • Experience in a similar IT Systems Specialist / Systems Analyst / Technical Solutions role
  • Strong background in requirements gathering and technical solution design
  • Knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, cloud technologies, or business systems architecture
  • Experience delivering projects involving multiple technical disciplines and stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities
  • A collaborative, proactive, and solutions-focused mindset
  • Passion for innovation, technology, and service improvement
  • Cloud technologies such as Azure and AWS

Desirable Experience

  • Agile / PRINCE2 / APM project methodologies
  • Rail, transport, or operational industry experience
