Humbercare

Date: 2 weeks ago
City: Kingston upon Hull
Salary: £13,925.6 per year
Contract type: Full time

We are currently seeking a Housing Management Worker to work on our specialised service which focuses on women with complex needs. As a Housing Management Worker, you will provide a person-centred programme of support.

We provide two specialist housing support services for women experiencing homelessness, both offering safe accommodation, personalised individual support, and 24-hour staffing.
One service supports women with more complex needs, including those experiencing entrenched rough sleeping and severe multiple disadvantage. It provides intensive, high-level support within single-occupancy accommodation with shared communal facilities.
The second service supports women experiencing homelessness who require medium to high levels of support tailored to their individual circumstances. Residents receive ongoing assistance to help them address the challenges contributing to their homelessness and work towards greater independence. Both services are staffed 24 hours a day, ensuring women have access to support and accommodation whenever it is needed.

Contract:

  • 20 hours contract, part time. Hours vary across a rolling rota and include weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

* To provide a programme of intensive housing management to service users referred into the HRS in accordance with housing benefit support exemption requirements.
* To provide effective housing management within a service that supports women with a range of complex needs and severe multiple disadvantages, helping to prevent or resolve homelessness, develop independent living skills, sustain tenancies, and successfully transition to long-term housing while leading fulfilling lives.
* To engage with service users on a weekly basis to support individuals to maintain and achieve independent living in the community.
* To provide a high-quality service, ensuring outstanding customer service and service delivery by acting as an ambassador for Humbercare and point of contact for customers. Engaging with service users to design services that work for them and utilising resources within the local area to make a real, quality difference to peoples' lives.

Essential Requirements:

* Educated to Level 2 Diploma or equivalent.
* Experience of working in a social care or similar environment, preferably with women.
* Knowledge of Psychologically Informed Environments and Trauma Informed Care Principles and Practice.
* Knowledge of statutory and voluntary support agencies that specialise supporting women.
* Working knowledge of person-centred, strengths-based approaches to support and care planning.
* Experience of working with others to achieve successful outcomes.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
* Team working experience, working cooperatively with colleagues in complex, pressurised situations.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills and the ability to effectively manage a caseload.

Desirable Requirements:

* Willing to work towards a recognised housing/care/support qualification.

If you are passionate about supporting women experiencing severe and multiple disadvantage and have the necessary skills and experience, we would love to hear from you.‍
