This post is fixed term / secondment until 13.02.2027 due to Maternity cover.

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Health Care Support Worker to join Bryn Hesketh Ward. It is a dementia assessment ward and has links to the CMHT.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as part of the nursing team delivering evidence based high quality clinical care that focuses on the direct need of the patient.

The post holder will assist registered nurses/practitioner in the provision of delegated care of patients. The post holder will endeavour to provide for the holistic needs of the individual, in conjunction with other disciplines within the health care environment.

The post holder will undertake a broad range of duties and will be expected to work independently and as part of the team, supervising patients and assisting them with future care plan.

Qualifications And/or Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • NVQ Level 3 Or working towards level 3 to be achieved within 18 months of appointment and with relevant experience in working with people with Dementia

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Previous experience within the health care sector or specifically in a Mental Health care setting

Aptitude And Abilities

Essential criteria

  • Understanding of risk management and health & Safety issues
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality
