The Chiltern School is an Area Special School in Central Bedfordshire. Our school offers all through education from 3-19 years. Our experienced staff provide stimulating learning opportunities addressing the needs of pupils with moderate, severe and profound learning difficulties. Many of our pupils have associated needs which include communication and social interaction, physical, sensory and medical.

Salary: £16,298.00 - £16,555,569
Hours per week: 27.5, Term time plus 5 days
We are looking for School Health Care Assistants to join us to assist pupils and staff deliver daily personal care and medical needs.
About You
This post would suit someone with experience in personal care and medical processes within a school setting with the ability to respond and communicate empathetically with children and young adults.

Because of the nature of this job, it will be necessary for an enhanced DBS check to be undertaken. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore applicants are required to declare all unspent cautions and convictions; and also any adult cautions (simple or conditional), and spent convictions that are not protected as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2020). A person’s criminal record will not in itself prevent a person from being appointed to this post. Applicants will not be refused posts because of offences which are not relevant to, and do not place them at or make them a risk in, the role for which they are applying.
