This role is key to safely enabling the Group’s strategic ambitions for the use of AI, amongst other outcomes. The role holder will use a combination of technical data privacy expertise plus a deep understanding of how banks operate and use personal data within journeys and processes to identify and prioritise actions.

The team sits within Lloyds Banking Group’s Risk function and will partner actively with business units across the Group.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Working closely with business and strategy teams to anticipate changes required as the Group delivers its strategy

  • Recommending key changes and opportunities for improvement including automation

  • Collaborating with peers within the Risk function and across business units to monitor controls and the implementation of related changes

  • Ensuring close alignment to the Group’s Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and applicable regulatory standards

Why join us?

What we’re looking for:

  • 10+ years leading teams or functions in a complex organisation

  • 5+ years in a risk or first line control function within Financial Services

  • 5+ years of Strategic Decision Making, showing ability to make timely decisions, assimilate complex information, and provide relevant recommendations.

  • Deep expertise in data privacy, specifically in the practical aspects of how privacy risk arises in businesses, and how controls combine effectively to mitigate privacy risk

  • Strong understanding of the business process context in which privacy controls operate, including digital customer journeys, digital marketing, technology and business change

  • Strong customer focus and ability to evaluate privacy risks with a customer lens

  • Strong knowledge and expertise on non-financial risk

  • Knowledgeable on AI and its associated risks

  • Demonstrable ability to build partnerships, and provide challenge and advice

  • Evidence of coaching and leading teams through rapid change

  • Strong logical and analytical reasoning

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence at the most senior levels

And any of these would be great:

  • Experience within operational risk function within financial services

  • Formal data privacy qualification e.g. CIPP/E
