Head of Data & Data Management

Location: Remote – Monthly Office meeting Chandlers Ford

Procode are a leading UK technology business delivering transformative, data-driven solutions for the energy sector and beyond. We have nearly two decades of experience, we help organisations unlock the power of data to improve efficiency, reduce cost to serve, and enhance customer outcomes.

Our platforms support millions of customers and enable smarter, more sustainable services. We are committed to innovation, engineering excellence, and building products that genuinely make a difference.

The role

This is a pivotal leadership opportunity to define and deliver Procode’s end-to-end data capability. As Head of Data & Data Management, you will sit at the intersection of strategy, engineering, and operations, ensuring data is treated as a trusted, high-value enterprise asset and product. You will lead the evolution of our data platforms, governance framework, and AI enablement, while ensuring operational excellence across data management. This role combines strategic ownership with hands-on leadership, requiring someone who can shape vision whilst also ensuring high-quality execution at scale.

What You'll Be Doing

You’ll take ownership of shaping and delivering Procode’s data capability end-to-end, from defining the strategy through to making sure it works day-to-day in a fast-moving, product-led environment.

A big part of your role will be setting the direction. You’ll define what great looks like for data and AI at Procode, building a clear strategy that directly supports our products, customers, and commercial outcomes. Just as importantly, you’ll turn that strategy into something tangible, creating prioritised roadmaps that drive real value. You’ll lead the evolution of our data platforms, ensuring we have scalable, cloud-based foundations that can handle everything from ingestion to transformation and access. This isn’t just about architecture, it’s about making sure our data is reliable, accessible, and ready to power both our products and our decision-making. Alongside this, you’ll push automation across pipelines and environments, helping us move faster and more efficiently.

On the operational side, you’ll make sure our data is trusted. That means owning data quality, governance, lineage, and change management, creating the standards and controls that keep everything secure, compliant, and running smoothly. When incidents do occur, you’ll ensure they’re handled well, with clear escalation, reporting, and continuous improvement.

You’ll also play a key role in enabling analytics and AI across the business. By ensuring data is production-ready, you’ll allow teams to build models and insights with confidence. You’ll set the expectations around how models are managed, monitored, and governed, and act as a trusted voice on the risks and responsible use of data and AI.

Finally, you’ll build and lead a high-performing, multidisciplinary data team. You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, and QA to make data a core part of how we build and deliver. More broadly, you’ll act as a senior partner across the business, influencing decisions on architecture, tooling, and investment, and helping embed a truly data-led culture.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a genuine data leader, someone who has operated at scale, built capability from the ground up, and knows what “good” looks like in a modern, product-led environment.

You’ll have already led Data Engineering, Data Science or AI teams in production settings, and be comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. Just as importantly, you’ve built and grown in-house data teams, not simply managed suppliers, and you understand what it takes to create a high-performing, multidisciplinary function.

You’ll bring deep experience working with modern data platforms, including designing, and delivering them end-to-end. You’ve likely been through at least one large-scale data transformation or migration, helping organisations move away from legacy environments and unlock better use of their data.

We’re particularly interested in people who understand data beyond the technical, you’ll be someone who sees data as a product, and who has worked in product-led operating models, partnering closely with Product and Engineering to deliver real customer and commercial value.

You’ll also have a strong grasp of modern data principles, things like DataOps, automation, governance, and scalability, and you’ll be confident putting in place model governance, observability, and risk controls so that data and AI can be used safely and responsibly.

Why join Procode?

  • Opportunity to shape a greenfield data capability in a product-led organisation
  • Work on complex, large-scale data challenges, including legacy transformation
  • Influence AI, product, and engineering strategy at a senior level
  • Build and lead a function that is critical to the organisation’s future success

Our employees, just like our customers come from all walks of life, and we’re driven in championing diversity, inspiring an inclusive culture, and enabling an environment where you can be your authentic self.
