About the role:


We are seeking a highly motivated, qualified accountant to join our Finance team playing a key role within the business. You will be working alongside a talented, like-minded team for some of Europe’s largest frozen food brands including Birdseye, Aunt Bessie, Findus and Goodfella pizzas.


Key Accountabilities:


Responsibilities in this role are expected to change over time as the team and Company navigates change. Willingness and ability to take on a variety of tasks to support the team are expected to ensure the team remains resilient and to promote personal development.


A key role will be taking responsibility for the Company’s accounting policy manual, leading on change (e.g. adoption of IFRS 18), ensuring the manual is fit for purpose, providing technical support for users and providing training.


In supporting the teams core objectives, the role will be expected to support the monthly/quarterly/annual close processes, meeting monthly and quarterly reporting deliverables, ensuring compliance with the Group SOX controls, supporting XBRL tagging in WDESK (Workiva platform), and reporting to key stakeholders, including the Audit Committee & Senior Management.


  • Work with Colleagues across the Group, Shared Finance Centre (in Hammersmith) and other markets
  • Support members of other Group teams and functions - mainly tax and treasury Teams
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting entries through establishing working practices with Colleagues, reviewing journals and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Complete financial controls in accordance with the controls framework as required by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX)
  • Input into the Annual budget and Quarterly forecasts
  • Participate in the completion of statutory accounts under FRS 101
  • Work with the systems and controls teams to uphold a well-controlled change environment
  • Participate in wider finance and accounting projects, including those aimed at further utilising systems including SAP and BPC


About you:


  • Audit experience
  • Qualified financial accountant (preferably ACA)
  • 2-5+ years PQE experience
  • Desire to pursue a career in financial reporting
  • Good understanding of IFRS and Group financial reporting
  • Good understanding of month end closing process (B/S reconciliations, Intercompany, Journal entries, accruals, etc.)
  • Highly computer literate: strong Excel skills are a must
  • Able to work under time pressure and able to manage multiple priorities
