Job Description

Have you Graduated in recent years with a First-Class Honours Degree in Business / Technical / Manufacturing systems subject? Are you looking for the first / next step in your career that will offer progression into a leadership position?

If so, we would like to hear from you We require Graduates with a First-Class Honours degree in either Engineering or a Business-related subject to join a precision engineering company based in Plymouth.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone to utilise the analytical skills learnt in their degree and to gain practical experience, with the view to being fast tracked into a Leadership based position, within a transforming environment. This is for candidates with natural leadership and motivational qualities. Key Responsibilities – Graduate Leadership Support manufacturing functions in optimising product flow & work standardisation.

Integral part of planning and demand management Interrogate and Analyse data by using Excel / BI and MRP data to control the flow of materials and identify potential shortages / bottlenecks within the supply chain. Schedule usage of production materials to ensure optimal production levels. Provide empirical analysis and KPI’s to aid and support decision making rationale.

Ensure improvement initiatives are monitored and progressing to plan. Project administration across a wide variety and size of initiatives including management of new process implementation. Liaise across departmental functions to ensure common understanding of project objectives and timescales.

Work with manufacturing teams to generate, develop and implement process and systems improvements. Identifying and assist in highlighting training needs as systems and processes change dictate. Meeting with managers to discuss methods of improving the productivity of existing systems and step change initiatives.

Establishing and implementing a quality culture within the manufacturing environment. Any other ad-hoc tasks as required. Constantly evaluate opportunities for improvement utilising DMAIC principles.

Essential Qualifications, Knowledge & Candidate Attributes Required: Candidates with a First-Class Honours degree either in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business Studies, Economics or another relevant associated discipline. Exceptional analytical ability with practical and logical approach to problem-solving.

Fast learner with a tenacious & driven attitude coupled with a high degree of self motivation and initiative to learn and succeed. Ability to work to tight project deadlines –the ability to work well under pressure and take on new challenges coupled with the determination to overcome problems. Excellent communication skills coupled with excellent organisational and time management skills.
