Job Summary

This role is responsible for contributing to the global employee relations framework evolution, including communication and case studies. The role delivers employee communications, supports performance management, offers expert Employee Relations (ER) consultation, and provides compliance guidance. The role develops training, collaborates with stakeholders, and represents the organization in external cases for all countries in the region where HP has presence.

Note: The incumbent is required to work from their designated HP office for a minimum of three days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and leads medium to high complexity investigations, partners with stakeholder and ensures timely closure. Contributes to knowledge management of ER and related processes.
  • Develops disciplinary recommendation risk assessments and reporting, and ensures disciplinary policies, procedures, practices, and documentation are kept up to date.
  • Examines case studies and contributes to the evolution of the global employee relations framework, including programs, policies, procedures, practices, and system enhancements.
  • Develops and delivers employee communications related to talent management initiatives, policies, and programs and ensures that employees are informed about changes, updates, and relevant information related to employee relations and talent management practices.
  • Collaborates with HR, managers and supervisors to provide consultation, guidance and support on performance management matters, including performance reviews, performance improvement plans, and feedback conversations.
  • Acts as an expert ER consultant managing complex HR escalations while ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Keeps up to date with changes in employment laws and regulations and provides guidance to management and employees on compliance-related matters.
  • Develops and delivers training programs for employees and managers on topics such as diversity and inclusion, conflict resolution, communication skills, and workplace conduct, and provides guidance and coaching to managers on employee relations best practices and effective employee communication techniques.
  • Partners with employment law, integrity councils, and HR in the review of case findings and proposed HR recommendations.
  • Represents the organization in cases where the matter is referred to a tribunal, mediation, and/or mediation.
  • Supports the management of the relationship with employee representative groups (work councils, unions, etc.) on behalf of the organization.

Education & Experience Recommended

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Labor Relations, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
  • Typically has 7-10 years of work experience, preferably in Employee Relations, HR Generalist, HR compliance, Labor Relations, Employment & Labor Law, or a related field.

Preferred Certifications

  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR)/ Senior Professional in Human Resources (SHPR)
  • Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)
