About The Role
At GSF Car Parts, the role of a General Assistant is all encompassing to support our aim of delivering excellent Customer Service. This role requires flexibility across multiple areas of the branch, including working as a Delivery Driver, Warehouse Operative and Retail Counter Assistant, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of daily operations.
You will play a crucial part of the team; contributing towards achieving branch and individual targets through face-to-face sales, servicing click and collect orders, and developing strong customer relationships.

You will play a crucial part of the team; contributing towards achieving branch and individual targets through face-to-face sales, servicing click and collect orders, and developing strong customer relationships.
Main Duties Include
- Delivery driving duties, ensuring accurate, safe and timely delivery of parts to customers whilst providing excellent service at all times.
- Serving trade and retail customers on the counter, supporting with enquiries, orders and upselling where appropriate.
- Picking and packing parts from the warehouse to fulfil customer and delivery orders efficiently and accurately.
- Supporting click and collect orders and ensuring customers are served promptly.
- Assisting the sales team with product promotions, handling telephone and electronic queries as required.
- Fully satisfying customer needs in respect of any part orders, returns or queries.
- Checking customer returns for resale, warranty or surcharge purposes.
- Contributing to a positive team performance whilst working towards individual KPIs and sales targets.
- Maintaining high standards of organisation, cleanliness and health & safety across warehouse and customer-facing areas.
- Developing strong working relationships with customers and understanding their needs.
- Promoting a professional company image and representing GSF values at all times.
- Utilising the E-learning portal to develop product knowledge and improve performance.
- Always working towards the achievement of relevant set KPI’s.
About You
What you'll need to succeed:
- Proven experience in a customer-facing role, ideally within retail, sales, warehouse or delivery environments
- A positive, proactive approach with a strong focus on customer service and resolving queries effectively
- Motivated and target-driven, with the ability to contribute towards sales and branch performance
- Confident using IT systems to support order processing, stock management and customer interactions
- Ability to work flexibly across delivery driving, warehouse operations and counter sales
- Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Good attention to detail, particularly when picking orders and handling customer requests
- A full UK driving licence (or requirement to drive, if applicable)
- Knowledge of car parts or the automotive industry is advantageous but not essential
- Familiarity with systems such as MAM, Allicat or MS Office is desirable
