About our opportunity:

We are looking for a proactive and highly organised Fleet Maintenance Coordinator to join our fast-paced Central Fleet Maintenance team in Salford. Working within a dynamic environment, you will take ownership of a regional area of our fleet, ensuring all scheduled maintenance, compliance requirements, and breakdown management are handled efficiently.

This is a key role in keeping our fleet moving, maintaining compliance, and supporting stakeholders across the business.

The role may include occasional travel across our network to aid the building of relationships to better support your regional ownership.

This opportunity will be working: Monday - Friday, 07:30am - 17:00pm / 6am - 3.30pm Rotational (45 hours per week)

What you will be doing:

  • Schedule and manage planned maintenance inspections (PMIs), MOTs, brake tests, LOLERs, tachograph calibrations, and other compliance-related events.
  • Handle inbound breakdowns and vehicle defects via telephone and email, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Maintain accurate digital compliance records for all fleet maintenance events.
  • Manage stakeholder queries in a professional and approachable manner, both by phone and email.
  • Process supplier purchase orders and support financial controls.
  • Carry out ad-hoc administrative tasks to support departmental needs.

Development Opportunities

We are committed to supporting professional development. This role includes the opportunity to complete Operator Licence Awareness Training and, for the right candidate, progression towards obtaining your Transport Manager’s CPC.

About you:

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
  • Excellent numerical skills, with the ability to reconcile data quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to work under pressure with a logical and solutions-focused approach.
  • Professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience dealing with people via telephone and email.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • A self-starter who can effectively manage their own workload and time.
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
