PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £55,000 - £68,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
BBC Radio Shropshire is looking for a dynamic and talented Executive Producer.
You’ll need to love radio, understand the digital opportunities and have a real understanding of our audience.
You’ll work closely with the Executive Editor and the wider regional leadership team across The Midlands.
You’ll need to ensure our content is aligned to the BBC Local strategy and how that translates to the team and the way they work.

This role is currently advertised as internal only. Freelancers are eligible to apply if they have been on a Worker Contract (more info here) continuously for 6 months. Your Key Responsibilities And Impact
- The successful candidate will be expected to support and complement the Executive Editor in leading the team at BBC Radio Shropshire to ensure they deliver on the KPIs that are based on target audience, impact, ambition, people and effective use of licence fee.
- You’ll have a strong sense of the strategy for BBC local and the need to reach diverse, opportunity audiences across Shropshire.
- You’ll take a lead in ambitious and creative projects (both in radio and digital and podcasts) which will push the boundaries on new ways of working; collaborating across platforms and teams.
- You’ll be able to translate complex data to be relevant and useful to teams.
- You will also play a key role in ensuring BBC Radio Shropshire has strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- The right candidate will relish the opportunity to provide leadership to a vibrant creative team.
- You’ll work closely with the Executive Editor and be confident in taking editorial decisions, making creative pitches and will prioritise driving the highest standards across linear and digital output.
- You’ll be experienced at working with teams to motivate and develop them whilst always looking to maintain and improve the culture at BBC Radio Shropshire.
- Part of this role will see you deputising for the Executive Editor and leading effective communication with other members of the regional leadership and England Commissioning teams.
