The successful candidate will teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging lessons that challenge and motivate students while supporting them to make excellent progress.

The Role

As a Teacher of English, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and well-structured English lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Inspire students through the study of English Language and English Literature.
  • Assess, monitor and track student progress effectively.
  • Differentiate learning to support pupils of varying abilities and backgrounds.
  • Create a positive classroom environment that promotes high expectations and a love of learning.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and pastoral teams to support student achievement and wellbeing.
  • Play an active role in the wider life of the school.

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching English across KS3 and KS4.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • High expectations for student achievement and behaviour.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
