Our client is a leading food manufacturer, that values hard work, teamwork and developing people. They are part of a global group with multiple sites in the UK and are looking for an Engineering Team Leader to lead their shift engineers.

Role And Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance of all high:speed production and packaging machinery
  • Electrical and mechanical fault finding, problem solving and repairs
  • PLC : electrical fault finding
  • PPM planning, workload scheduling, CMMS system management, attend meetings, contractor management, toolbox audits, set KPis, monitor shift performance
  • Promote a health and safety conscious environment
  • Continuous improvement projects
  • Dealing with motors, servo drives, contactors, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, inverters
  • Management of stores, ordering of spares and parts when needed

Knowledge, Skills And Experience

  • Must be a strong man:manager, leader and coach
  • Able to make decisions effectively and prioritise tasks
  • NVQ Level 3 engineering or maintenance minimum
  • Effective communicator, approachable and dependable character
  • Ideally have previously been team leader / supervisor
  • Must have completed a time:served:apprenticeship, with 5+ years experience outside of it
  • Strong electrical and mechanical problem solving skills
  • Ideally have worked in food manufacturing industry
  • Knowledge of PLCs, automation and control systems, HMis beneficial
  • Knowledge of food safety / hygiene beneficial
  • Continuous improvement mentality
