Reporting to: Reliability Lead
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Engineer Planner to join our Crewe Bakery site. This is a key role within the engineering team, responsible for planning and coordinating all planned maintenance activities, driving continuous improvement, and supporting reliability across the site.

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Engineer Planner to join our Crewe Bakery site. This is a key role within the engineering team, responsible for planning and coordinating all planned maintenance activities, driving continuous improvement, and supporting reliability across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and prioritise all scheduled maintenance activities using the site’s CMMS.
- Liaise with stakeholders to manage and schedule work requests effectively.
- Support root cause and failure analysis (RCM, FMEA) to improve asset reliability.
- Capture, analyse and report downtime and maintenance data to inform improvements.
- Contribute to the delivery of the site’s asset care strategy and continuous improvement plans.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and health & safety standards.
- Assist in the identification of training needs and resource planning within the engineering team.
- A recognised qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (HND/HNC, degree, or time-served apprenticeship).
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a food manufacturing or similar FMCG environment.
- Proficient with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office.
- Strong understanding of maintenance strategies, root cause analysis and reliability principles.
- Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Proactive, organised and committed to continuous improvement.
