In this position, you will be supporting Dematic across our EMEA engineering services operation by focusing on the development of the engineering maintenance services we provide to our customers.
As the dedicated EMEA Operational Excellence Engineer, you will work closely with various international engineering centres of excellence to better understand our technology and partner closely with our resident and field maintenance teams to develop standard systems, processes, and operations across EMEA.
In turn, this will contribute to the successful implementation, delivery, and financial success of the EMEA CS Service contracts through a process of continuous improvement. Aiming for excellence in the following areas: Compliance with Legal and Dematic obligations, leading and championing a CI culture within the organisation, embedding and standardising the most efficient and appropriate maintenance practices including the introduction of digital services.

Tasks And Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop standard systems and processes in partnership with support functions to ensure compliance with Dematic’s Legal obligations (LOLER, PSSR, EN528, etc).
- Support and work with service teams and support functions to ensure operations are Legally Compliant (LOLER, PSSR, EN528, etc).
- Develop standard systems and processes in partnership with support functions to ensure compliance with Dematic’s internal policies and requirements around Health and Safety (Risk Assessments and Method Statements, W@H, Low Oxygen, LOTO etc).
- Support and work with service teams and support functions to ensure operations are compliant with Dematic’s internal policies and requirements around Health and Safety (Risk Assessments and Method Statements, Working At Height, Low Oxygen, LOTO etc).
- CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) – Develop a standardised maintenance management system which can be introduced and utilised across the region. Allowing for standard reporting (KPI), roll out and monitoring of standard maintenance practices (safety-critical and reliability-based), aligned management of inventory to allow for opportunity generation and planning, plus feedback to the COE’s (Centres of Excellence) equipment performance, consistent asset structures, quick deployment into new sites.
- CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) – Take a leading role in the implementation and ongoing support of CMMS within the Resident Teams in EMEA.
- Develop, standardise, and implement how Dematic Resident Site Operations and site structures are delivered from cradle to grave.
- Develop Maintenance standards and policies which can be implemented across the region, in Resident and Field Service, giving advantages in; safety, customer site operations (repeatability and reliability), standard cost models, and best value solutions.
- Advise and assist sites in the development and improvements to their Maintenance programs in line with modern working practices (FMEA, RCM, CBM).
- Working with Resident Site Teams and Regional management teams to be a key driver of embedding a Continuous Improvement culture within the organisation.
- Develop and embed the CI and Lean tools which are used within the Resident Teams (CAPA, FMEA, RCA).
- Drive creative and innovative thinking in the use of technology/data/analytics within a maintenance environment.
- Work with the regional management team and Sites to develop and then introduce the future wave of digital services and advanced maintenance strategies
- Strong expertise in the management of Technical Engineering Systems
- Exposure to working with varying standards, processes, and legal requirements across various countries.
- Proven ability to work and influence teams in a matrix organisation.
- Capable of building relationships with key stakeholders outside of Dematic Teams (clients, 3rd Parties).
- Excellent communication skills and master of workload management.
- Quality orientated with an unwavering focus on delivering high standards that match our own.
- Demonstrable experience working within a commercial organisation providing a service delivery function.
- Experience in working with and implementing CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) based maintenance programs.
- Conversant with modern maintenance practices and tools (RCM, FMEA, CBM).
- Experience in the implementation of modern maintenance practices (RCM, FMEA, CBM).
- Desired knowledge of Lean and Continuous Improvement Techniques.
- Desired experience in the implementation of Lean and Continuous Improvement cultures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, able to collaborate with and influence other departments such as engineering, product, spares, asset life cycle etc to drive optimal results.
