We have exciting new opportunities for two Educational Fellows in Acute Medicine, one will be located on the Same Day Emergency Care at EDGH and one will be located on the Same Day Emergency Care at Conquest. This post is fully accredited by the Brighton and Sussex Medical School starting in August 2024. This post is an early career-grade educational position, which will facilitate further core training.
Candidates will require full GMC registration
The post-holder will be expected to the work closely with our Undergraduate Medical Education Team to provide guidance and support to medical students on placement at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust in order to develop their competencies.
The post will also involve completion of a Postgraduate Certificate in Education at Brighton University that is fully funded by Medical Education.
The post will especially be advantageous for a CT level doctor interested in a career in Acute Medicine within a supportive environment, whilst developing recognised clinical teaching experience.
50% of the week is allocated to clinical work in Acute Medicine at Conquest or Eastbourne.
40% of the week to support Undergraduate Education within SDEC unit and the Postgraduate Medical Centre.
10% for Personal Professional Development working towards completion of a PG Certificate, Diploma or MA in Clinical Education.
There are no fixed on-calls for Acute Medicine, but opportunities may be available with mutual agreement. There will be 1:4 weekends and 1:4 11-7 shift.
