About The Role

Covetrus are looking for a reliable and customer-focused Delivery Driver to join our team in Dumfries. As the regular face-to-face contact with our valued customers, you’ll play a key role in maintaining our positive reputation and delivering the highest standards of service.

Whether you’re behind the wheel or making doorstep deliveries, you’ll ensure timely, safe, and professional service—every time.

Please note this is a part time role (20hrs per week)

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out vehicle checks and log in to the telematics system before starting duties
  • Deliver company stock to customers on time, following scheduled routes
  • Collect required signatures and return any customer stock as directed
  • Report missing/damaged goods to Customer Service using scanning equipment
  • Keep your vehicle clean and maintained, reporting any faults or issues promptly
  • Maintain delivery information sheets for relief or agency drivers
  • Lock the vehicle whenever unattended and ensure all contents are secure
  • Handle delivery boxes efficiently and monitor returns
  • Always wear uniform and PPE, and represent the company professionally
  • Drive safely, within legal limits, and maintain courtesy on the roads
  • Follow contingency plans in case of bad weather or rerouting needs
  • Only use fuel cards for standard diesel purchases and company-authorised journeys
  • Report any vehicle incidents or license penalty points promptly
  • Support handovers during holidays, ensuring vehicles are clean, fuelled, and ready for the next driver
  • Attend mandatory training and hub meetings when required

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Full UK Driver’s Licence
  • Proven experience in a customer-facing role
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability
  • Ability to follow routes and navigate unfamiliar areas
  • A professional, courteous manner

Education:

  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills
