Document Controller
Location: Exeter
We are looking to appoint a detail-oriented and highly organised Document Controller to join our team. This is a key role responsible for managing and controlling project documentation, ensuring information is accurately maintained, distributed, and stored in line with company procedures and project requirements.
Working closely with project teams, consultants, subcontractors, and stakeholders, you will support the efficient flow of information across projects, maintain document control systems, and provide expertise in the use of Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms. You will play an important role in ensuring project teams have access to accurate, up-to-date documentation while promoting best practice in information management.
Key Duties
- Manage and control project document flow, ensuring all project documentation is accurate, current, and distributed to relevant stakeholders
- Provide guidance, training, and support to project teams and subcontractors on document control procedures and Common Data Environment (CDE) systems
- Maintain document control systems, business archives, and information management processes, ensuring records are securely stored and easily accessible
- Support project and design teams by monitoring documentation, resolving document control issues, and providing regular reporting when required
- Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information while delivering administrative support and identifying opportunities for process improvement
About You
You will be a proactive and organised professional with strong administration skills and experience managing project documentation within a construction or project-based environment.
You will bring:
- Previous experience in a Document Controller role, with knowledge of document management processes and procedures
- Experience using Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms and document control systems such as ASITE, BIW, 4Projects, or similar
- Strong administration, organisational, and Microsoft Office skills, with excellent attention to detail
- Basic understanding of BIM and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders
- GCSEs/A Levels (or equivalent), NVQ in IT/Administration or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
