The Role

Our Corporate Security organization protects Coherent’s people, revenue, and industry-leading photonics innovation by building organizational resilience, facilitating risk-based decision-making, and reinforcing an environment of trust.

This role supports the design and delivery of physical security and resilience programs across the Coherent’s EMEA footprint—and will play a key part in driving global program scale up to bring consistency and value add at an enterprise level. This is a chance to build and drive implementation of net new programs, shape company-wide initiatives, and act as SME and strategic partner to business group leadership—while making a measurable impact on our people and culture.

What you will be doing…

  • Act as the regional subject matter expert for physical security, resilience, and crisis management across EMEA.
  • Lead and continuously improve a risk-based security program covering manufacturing sites, offices, laboratories, and R&D facilities.
  • Conduct security risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and implement effective mitigation strategies to protect people, assets, and operations.
  • Oversee security operations across the region, ensuring compliance with internal standards and external requirements.
  • Develop and maintain incident response, crisis management, and business resilience frameworks to minimise operational disruption.
  • Lead security incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Deliver security awareness and resilience training to strengthen organisational preparedness.
  • Manage security service providers and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, law enforcement, and external partners.
  • Support the development and implementation of global security frameworks, continuous improvement initiatives, and strategic security projects.
  • Provide regional leadership during security incidents and support global security activities as required.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree. Relevant professional certifications desirable (i.e. ASIS CPP, advanced security management certificate, etc.).
  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience in a corporate security management role or related role, preferably with experience at a multi-site, global manufacturer.
  • Experiencing implementing physical and procedural control measures—and influencing behaviours—to protect intellectual property, trade secrets, and confidential information in a high-precision manufacturing environment.
  • Previous exposure across a broad spectrum of corporate security domains including security risk assessment and auditing, manufacturing site security operations, personnel security, supply chain security, crisis management, etc.
  • Familiarity with supply chain security standards (AEO, C-TPAT, TAPA).
  • Demonstrated experience in leading/managing transformation initiatives, managing programs/projects, and utilizing operational excellence/continuous improvement methodologies to drive measurable results.
  • Vendor and budget management experience.
