This position is with Play Services Ireland Ltd. The role forms part of an Innovation Boost project supported by InterTradeIreland. Salary support under the programme is provided for 18 months; however, the employment contract is with Play Services Ireland Ltd and is not limited to the funding period.
Play Services Ireland Ltd is a specialist provider of playground design, installation, inspection, and maintenance services operating across Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, and Great Britain. Job Description
Play Services Ireland Ltd is seeking a motivated Project Manager to join its innovation team as part of an Innovation Boost–supported project delivered in collaboration with Technological University of the Shannon.
This new role will focus on the development of a mobile and cloud-based digital platform to support playground inspections, on-site data capture, automated reporting, and system integration with council and business workflows. The successful candidate will work at the intersection of software development, data management, and user-centred design to deliver a robust, scalable digital solution for non-technical users.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role will include:
- Digital Application Development and Integration: Lead the design, development, and testing of a mobile and web-based inspection application, including integration with CRM, finance, and client IT systems via APIs.
- Data Capture, Processing, and Automation: Support the implementation of structured data capture (text, images, voice transcription, QR codes) and automated report generation to improve consistency, auditability, and efficiency.
- System Design and Cloud Technologies: lead the deployment and setting-up of cloud-based services for secure data storage, processing, and software-as-a-service (SaaS) delivery.
- User-Centred Design and Validation: Work closely with inspectors, administrative staff, and academic partners to ensure the system is intuitive, reliable, and suitable for non-technical users operating in field environments.
- Data Analysis and Continuous Improvement: Support analysis of inspection and asset data to improve risk assessment consistency, reporting quality, and future product features.
- Innovation Project Delivery: Act as the technical project lead within the company, coordinating additional feature development activities, contributing to documentation, and supporting product evolution beyond the initial project lifecycle.
The successful graduate will lead this project, in a supportive partnership with the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) as part of the InterTradeIreland Innovation Boost Programme.

Essential Criteria:
- Bachelor's degree in Business & Computing, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Northern Ireland/UK and travel throughout Ireland as required; if you do require a visa/work permit allowing you to work in Northern Ireland/UK you must upload a copy of it with your application. Failure to provide a relevant Visa/Work permit may result in your application not being considered.
Desirable Criteria:
- 3 years’ experience in IT systems development
- Experience in mobile app/web app development e.g. tools such as Glide or Flutter
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI
- Experience in API Development and Integration
- Knowledge of Data Processing and Automation
- Familiarity with Machine Learning Techniques
Pay: £32,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
