Overview

Opportunity for a Design Manager for Macelsfield to join the Life Scinence team. The Design Manager will report into the project team you will fully understand and manage the design requirements of the tender/project and to provide assistance and guidance to design co-ordinators where and as appropriate. This is a 5-year framework for small works ranging £300k - £4m. this role is On-site role for the DM working along side the Sisk framework team and client framework team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage design consultants and sub consultants along with design sub-contractors to ensure correct and timely delivery of all design related information for the execution of the works on site
  • Manage design co-ordinators and act as mentor to them for the projects they are involved in
  • Input into the Employers Requirement/Contractor Proposal Compatibility
  • Manage and assist the Design Co-ordinator during the construction phase
  • Chair and minute Design meetings and ensure production of information in line with the design

Experience

  • Project development from RIBA Stage 2 to 7, with multiple project running concurrently.
  • Largely fit out / remodelling works on Pharmaceutical projects.
  • Knowledge of NEC Contracts
  • Background – either from and Architectural or MEP Design basis
  • Knowledge of life science / manufacturing / assembly processes.
  • Be able to use Microsoft Word / Excel / PowerPoint
  • Be able to use View Point for Projects (4Projects )

Qualifications

  • Degree in construction related discipline
  • Minimum six years’ construction industry experience
