City: Bangor
Contract type: Full time
The ESOL department delivers life-changing language learning, integration support, and progression pathways to a highly diverse student demographic. Operating across multiple main campuses (including Rhos-on-Sea, Rhyl, and Bangor) as well as various community-based venues, the provision ensures accessible, high-quality education across the region

As a key member of the ESOL and Lifelong Learning management team, you will hold specific responsibility for the ESOL provision.

Based at our main Bangor site, you will assist the Program Area Manager (PAM) in overseeing the operational and curriculum management of a high-quality, inclusive ESOL curriculum.

In this pivotal role, you will work alongside the PAM to inspire and lead a dedicated team of lecturers and business support staff. You will champion engaging, accessible teaching that helps every learner reach their full potential and successfully integrate into the community and workforce.

You will support strategic curriculum planning to ensure all programs remain current, high-quality, and carefully tailored to the needs of ESOL learners. In doing so, you will maintain a rigorous focus on financial sustainability and funding compliance, ensuring that all provision strictly aligns with the quality frameworks and funding instructions established by MEDR.

Rooted firmly in the College values of equality, honesty, trust, fairness, and ambition, you will foster a collaborative team culture where staff feel supported, challenged, and motivated toward continuous improvement. You will assist the PAM in managing critical performance indicators such as attendance, retention, and achievement, by utilising data-driven insights to elevate the learner experience.

This is a unique opportunity to bring your leadership skills, curriculum expertise, and passion for language education to a forward-thinking department boasting responsive community provision and a clear vision for growth. Your contributions will directly shape the future success of both staff and learners across all ESOL pathways.
