The Surgical Directorate at Wrexham Maelor Hospital have a secondment opportunity for a forward thinking, innovative senior nurses to join our acute site Head of Nursing, Acute Matron and Directorate Operational Management Teams. If you are committed to giving high standards of patient care, have a strong focus on patient quality & safety, can work flexibly to lead your aligned team and have experience in Acute Medicine or Surgery, we want to hear from you.
Interviews are being planned for w/c 1st June 2026
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
The Deputy Head of Nursing will work in the aligned Surgical Directorate and be accountable to the Head of Nursing and Site Director of Nursing. The Directorate have an agreed Nursing responsibility and accountability structure.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
To apply you will need to demonstrate significant experience as a senior nurse leader at Band 8a or above. The role requires you to be an excellent communicator, leader and passionate about Surgical nursing. Your portfolio must demonstrate that of a high profile clinical leader and have had regular management experience of a clinical area; with senior nursing experience is essential.
