We have an exciting opportunity for Content Designer to join our over 60 strong Stakeholder Engagement, Consultation and Communications team. We are based across the UK and Ireland. However, this a hybrid role which can be based in any of AECOM’s existing offices, where you will join the Stakeholder Engagement, Consultation and Communications team (Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Croydon, Leeds or Manchester).

We’re looking for a talented and creative Content Designer to join our team and contribute to our mission of creating engaging and visually captivating content on behalf of our clients. This role is suitable for an individual that is passionate about communication and can demonstrate experience of creating compelling content that resonates with a wide variety of audiences, across multiple channels and platforms, including digital and print media. The position demands someone who has experience of working in a client facing environment; managing multiple design briefs, brand and clients, as well as liaison with suppliers.

The key aspects of the role are outline below:

  • Design capability
    • Conceptualise and design visually appealing graphics, illustrations and layouts for digital and print formats.
    • Create and edit images, icons and infographics to enhance content.
    • Maintain a consistent visual identity and brand for all client projects.
    • The ability to think outside the box, generate innovative ideas and turn concepts into visually appealing designs.
  • Content development
    • Collaborate with the stakeholder team to generate creative ideas for engagement and communications assets.
    • Develop concise and engaging written copy that complements visuals, including copywriting and editing skills.
    • Adapt content for various platforms, including social media, websites, email marketing, and print materials.
  • Project Management and Business Development
    • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring competing client deadlines and quality standards are met.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather input and feedback.
    • Identify business development opportunities and assist with commercial bids.
    • Strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and coordinate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Conduct thorough quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency in design and content.
    • Make necessary revisions based on client and technical feedback and adhere to commercial performance metrics.


  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or a related field.
  • Post-graduate professional design experience, preferably in an agency or consultancy setting.
  • Expert user of in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other graphic design tools.
  • Ability to develop engaging written copy that complements visuals, including copywriting and editing skills.
  • Familiarity with animation software like Adobe After Effects or other animation platforms for creating motion graphics and animations.
  • Experience with CMS platforms like WordPress or Drupal for web content management and development is desirable.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design work and content creation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to think creatively and critically to solve design and content-related challenges, as well as an adaptable mindset and an ability to work collaboratively with wider teams.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing trends is a plus.
