Children’s Support Worker – Complex Needs
Location: Mid & West Cornwall
Salary: £12.24/hour (weekdays), £12.44/hour (weekends) + 50% uplift on Bank Holidays
Contract Type: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Shifts Available: Weekdays, evenings, weekends
About The Role
Bluebird Care Mid & West Cornwall is seeking experienced and compassionate Children’s Support Workers to deliver high-quality, one-to-one care to children with complex needs. You’ll be working in family homes and community settings, providing personalised support that helps each child feel safe, included, and empowered.
This is a deeply rewarding role for someone with experience working with children and a genuine passion for improving lives.
A full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle are essential.
Our care is delivered across a rural area, so reliable transport is required.
What You’ll Do
Deliver person-centred care, including personal care (e.g. washing, dressing, feeding, toileting)
Support children with physical, sensory, behavioural, and medical needs
Help with daily routines: school runs, mealtimes, bedtime
Encourage communication, independence, and confidence
Support community outings and social interaction
Follow detailed care plans and record accurate notes
Work in partnership with families, schools, and healthcare teams
What We’re Looking For
Experience working with children (care, education, support, or health settings)
Confidence and compassion in providing personal care
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Flexible availability (some evenings and weekends required)
Calm, respectful, and child-focused attitude
