You will be working in a caring home environment with the wider team under the leadership of the Registered Manager, nurturing, and supporting the young people providing them with all the care, love, and support that they would receive as if it was their family home.

Salary £26,230 annual salary - £107.60 for sleep-in shifts

We are looking for committed and caring Children's Residential Support Workers to join our residential teams. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with a range of complex needs in a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment.

About the Role

As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to young people living within our residential services. You will work closely with colleagues, families, and partner agencies to help young people develop independence, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes.

Working as part of a dedicated team, you will:

  • Provide a caring, safe, secure, and accepting environment for young people.
  • Support young people's physical, emotional, social, educational, and health needs.
  • Assist in the assessment of needs and the development of individual care plans.
  • Undertake direct work with young people to help them achieve their goals and reach their potential.
  • Act as a Key Worker for allocated young people under supervision.
  • Support educational attendance, engagement, and achievement.
  • Promote positive relationships with families and significant others.
  • Monitor, assess, and record risks while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Contribute to care planning meetings, statutory reviews, and multidisciplinary working.
  • Maintain accurate records and produce high-quality reports.
  • Support young people during activities, appointments, holidays, and community-based experiences using Trust vehicles where required.

What We're Looking For

  • Good standard of written and spoken English.
  • QCF/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or equivalent, or willingness to achieve within required timescales.
  • Experience working with children and young people in a residential, care, education, youth work, or similar setting.
  • Understanding of the rights and needs of looked-after children and young people.
  • Ability to support risk assessments and manage challenging behaviour in a caring and consistent manner.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to write clear and accurate reports.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and residential holidays.
