Reports to: Service Manager, Children & Young People Team

MyCWA is looking for a compassionate and resilient Children & Young People Family Practitioner to join our close-knit Children & Young People team.

This is a key frontline role, supporting children, young people and families affected by domestic abuse. You will work directly with children and young people to understand their needs, develop and review support plans, and help ensure their voices are heard throughout their support.

The role will involve working closely with parents and caregivers, colleagues across MyCWA, and external partners such as schools, health professionals, social care and other community services.

What you’ll be doing

  • Providing direct support to children and young people affected by domestic abuse
  • Assessing individual and family needs
  • Developing, delivering and reviewing support plans
  • Delivering one-to-one, group and family-focused interventions
  • Supporting safety planning and helping children and young people express their wishes and feelings
  • Working in partnership with parents, caregivers and other professionals
  • Maintaining accurate case records and contributing to risk assessments and reviews
  • Helping children and young people build resilience, confidence and emotional wellbeing

This is a challenging and rewarding role. You will need to be able to adapt, remain calm under pressure and cope with the demands of client-facing work. No two days are the same.

We recruit for attitude and values, not qualifications alone. If you want to make a positive difference, we would love to hear from you.

About MyCWA

MyCWA supports adults, children and families affected by domestic abuse. We take a whole-family approach, providing safe accommodation, recovery support, practical help, children and young people’s services, and behaviour change programmes.

You’ll be joining a supportive and dynamic team where equality, diversity and inclusion are central to everything we do. All new staff receive a thorough induction, and there are opportunities to develop your skills, experience and career.

Apply now to join MyCWA and help make a lasting difference to children, young people and families affected by domestic abuse.
