Our dynamic built environment engineering team in Telford is seeking a Certification Project Engineer, where you'll play a crucial role in the certification of fenestration (windows and doors) and cladding products for the UK market.

Responsibilities

• Evaluation of requirements: you will be expected to critically assess and challenge project requests and steps to ensure relevance, efficiency, and accuracy throughout the entire process.
• Supporting proposal development: you will define the required technical steps, enabling Sales to prepare accurate and competitive offers for customers.
• Project planning and reporting: you will create detailed project plans and ensure regular, concise reporting to management, recognizing that structured planning is key to successful delivery.
• Test planning and coordination: you will oversee the planning and coordination of testing activities across both internal and external laboratories, supporting the certification of doors, windows, façades, and cladding, in close collaboration with global teams to ensure timely and efficient execution.
• Timeline management: you will take ownership of project timelines, continuously monitoring progress and ensuring deadlines are met through strong organization and prioritization.
• Documentation management: you will prepare and maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date project documentation, ensuring compliance with certification standards.
• Support to management and continuous improvement: you will assist in activities such as audits, data review, identifying improvement opportunities, developing training plans, and mentoring new colleagues.
• Customer engagement and networking: you will actively build relationships with customers, strengthening collaboration and ensuring excellent service delivery.
  
  

Qualifications

• General Engineering background, ideally Mechanical or other related to Building Safety.
• Around 5 years of related work experience, preferably with Building Products.
• At least two years certification experience.
• Audit experience.
• Working knowledge of relevant industry conformity standards relating to fenestration (windows and doors) and our cladding would be a bonus
• Proven experience in project work, with good project management skills (e.g. time management, Gantt charts).
• Detailed knowledge of the technical vocabulary common to the field evaluation business.
• Excellent communication skills and strong client focus.
• The right attitude is important: being open and cooperative with positive attitude and teamwork skills.
• Experience with Testing, Inspection & Certification (TIC) services would be a strong asset.
• Projects may include travel to conduct audits at client sites. 10% maximum travel.

Salary range varies by location and local market conditions, and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and other factors. This position is eligible for additional annual bonus with a target payout of 10% of base salary. You’ll also enjoy annual paid leave, access to our ULS University to support continuous learning and career growth, two volunteering days each year to participate in community activities. Hybrid working role, initial 6-month probation will be office based (Telford) and then transition to a hybrid role with 2 flexible work from home days each week.
