Responsibilities
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
We are seeking a passionate and talented Research Intern to join our dynamic, multidisciplinary team at Microsoft Research in Cambridge, focusing on Robotics. This internship offers an exceptional opportunity to advance your career while contributing to critical advancements in the field of robotic sensing and perception.
Responsibilities
- Conduct groundbreaking research in robotic tactile sensing and perception, exploring new methods and technologies to enhance robotic autonomy and intelligence.
- Design, implement, and optimize algorithms for sensor data processing, sensor fusion, and machine perception, and develop software to integrate these algorithms into robotic systems.
- Create and test prototypes of robotic sensing systems, ensuring seamless integration with hardware components.
- Plan and execute experiments to validate the performance of sensing and perception systems in various operating conditions.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative research environment.
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong background in tactile sensing, sensor fusion, or related areas.
- Experience with robotic hardware and software platforms.
- Track record of successful research leading to publications in top-tier venues like ICRA, IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters, and IROS.
- Impact-driven mindset with a demonstrated ability to work and learn in a collaborative and diverse environment.
- Committed nature with effective communication skills.
- Hands-on experience with sensor integration for robotics applications.
- Experience in programming languages such as Python.
