JOB: CAD/CAM Technician
LOCATION: Slough
TERM: Permanent
SALARY: GBP 35,000 to GBP 40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
My client is a specialist metal manufacturer. They are looking for a CAD/CAM Technician to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in both the design and manufacturing programming aspects of precision:engineered components.
The CAD/CAM Technician Will Ideally Have The Following Attributes
: A qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (HNC, HND, BEng, etc.)
: Strong experience using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
: Knowledge of sheet metal, fabrication, welding, machining and similar materials
: Experience with CAM software for CNC programming (EdgeCAM, Mastercam, or similar)
: Understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly CNC machining and fabrication
: Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
: Strong problem:solving skills and attention to detail
: Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
The CAD/CAM Technician Role Will Involve
: Producing 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for manufacturing
: Creating and optimising CNC programs using CAM software for milling and turning machines
: Liaising with the production team to ensure designs and programs are manufacturable
: Assisting with tooling selection and process planning
: Reviewing and updating engineering documentation and BOMs
: Supporting continuous improvement initiatives in the manufacturing process
