About the Role
The primary function of this role is to assess and underwrite bridging finance applications to ensure all lending complies with the company’s credit risk policy, and assist our intermediary partners by discussing potential new applications.
Responsibilities include:
- Process and underwrite new loans in line with credit policy, the responsible lending policy, and the underwriting manual.
- Participate and contribute to ongoing business improvement activities.
- Deliver first-class proactive customer service through inbound and outbound communication by telephone, email, and letter to all case stakeholders, including introducers, service suppliers, reference providers, and occasionally applicants.
- Build a thorough understanding of the products offered by the Firm, its lending strategy, credit risk policies, and processes.
- Assess borrower creditworthiness and underwrite new mortgage applications from initial receipt through to completion.
- Ensure a high level of accuracy in data entry and ongoing record keeping.
- Assist with the portfolio of live loans as required.
- Support the wider processing team and underwriting peer groups in delivering an excellent, compliant service with prompt and accurate decisions at each stage of the process.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Experience in Bridging, Refurbishment, or Development Finance, ideally 2 years
- Comprehensive knowledge of the full lifecycle of a bridging loan
- Experience working in a small, collaborative team
- Record and file management experience
- Experience with both regulated and unregulated bridging finance transactions
Desirable:
- Experience in business improvement activities
- Experience delivering proactive customer service through various communication channels
- Experience in managing a portfolio of live loans
