West Berkshire Council is seeking an Audit Officer to join our Children and Family Service, reporting to the Service Manager Quality Assurance & Safeguarding. The Role
Responsibilities
As an Audit Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the Service Manager to ensure the effective operation of West Berkshire's Quality Assurance & Audit processes within the Children and Family Services. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Conducting audits and reviews to assess compliance with standards and regulations
- Identifying areas for improvement and making appropriate recommendations
- Collaborating with service delivery teams to provide advice and support on quality improvement
- Monitoring progress on implementing audit recommendations
- Preparing reports and presenting findings to relevant stakeholders
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Experience of completing children services audits and ideally working in an audit or quality assurance role within a local authority or public sector environment
- Sound knowledge of audit methodologies and techniques
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly
- Ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as part of a team
