The Role
As an Audit Associate, you will support audit engagements by performing assigned tasks such as testing financial data, gathering evidence, and documenting findings. You will work under the supervision of seniors, learning audit procedures and ensuring compliance with standards. Your role helps ensure accurate and efficient completion of audits.

Core Skills
As an experienced Audit Associate at Azets, you will have the ability and motivation needed to:
- Begin to take ownership of your own portfolio of smaller assignments with support from your manager
- Support the Senior or Assistant Manager on larger and more complex assignments
- Support in delivering revenue and profitability targets
- Begin to develop enduring client relationships
- Participate in local networking and business development events Day to day duties
- Heavily involved in the completion of audit fieldwork/planned substantive and analytical audit procedures, including on site at client premises where necessary
- Responsibility for the planning and completion of audit assignments, whilst ensuring audit files have appropriate and sufficient documentation
- Prepare statutory financial statements from client data and highlight high level risk areas or matters of concern to the Partner/Manager whilst using a significant degree of your own judgement Planning the execution and finalisation of the audit assignments for Partner/Manager review
Takes full responsibility for delivery of an audit section under senior supervision
- Able to complete more complex testing under appropriate supervision and guidance in the following sections:
- Investments – impairment reviews, accounting for movements etc.
- Related parties – reconciliation between entities and identification of where / how differences have arise
- Have a comprehensive understanding of the process flows, double entry, relevant audit testing assertions and standard audit tests in each of the above sections
- Working knowledge of IFRS/UKGAAP and Auditing Standards
- ACA/ACCA/AAT part qualified
- A minimum of 2 years experience working in an audit environment for a UK practice
- Experience of auditing clients within a variety of industries Experience coaching and mentoring junior members
- Studying towards an accountancy qualification or qualified by experience (e.g. ACA/ACCA/CA).
It is expected that the above core and technical skills will have been developed through study alongside work experience in an accountancy practice.
