Job Description
Do you want to make a difference to the lives of young people?
The Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) deliver evidence-based interventions based on the Cognitive Behavioural Therapeutic (CBT) approach in schools. We work directly with children and young people aged 7-17 with mild to moderate mental health issues, and their parents and carers. We also work with schools to develop or enhance their whole-school approach to emotional health and wellbeing.
As an Assistant Manager you will be working as part of a dynamic service. This requires creativity, flexibility, and adaptability. You will be educated to degree level and have a postgraduate qualification in therapeutic practice.
The Assistant Manager Will Have Responsibility For
The post-holder will also have opportunities to provide training, advice, and support to school staff, helping to embed whole-school approaches to mental health, developing MHSTs and embedding their services within educational settings.
The role will involve collaboration with NHS, Education, and community partners. and working in partnership with educational settings to ensure good outcomes for children and young people.

- Delegated line management of staff and deputising for Team Managers.
- Assist Team Managers and the Whole School Approach Manager with the delivery of key service developments including the implementation of the SEND and Voice and Participation strategies, ensuring strategic goals are met.
- Assist Team Managers with oversight of referrals.
- Work collaboratively with key stakeholders.
The post-holder will also have opportunities to provide training, advice, and support to school staff, helping to embed whole-school approaches to mental health, developing MHSTs and embedding their services within educational settings.

We Are Looking For Candidates Who Have
- Passion and commitment for working with children and young people
- Understanding of children and young people’s mental health
- Knowledge of school systems
- Strong organisational skills
