The Finance team of RPS’ Services segment is looking for a proactive Assistant Management Accountant to provide management accounting and reporting support to the Senior Management Accountant.
You will be a quick learner, able to demonstrate attention to detail, with a proactive and positive approach to work. You will be able to work independently and use initiative. You will be a team worker, able to communicate effectively and build good working relationships, to contribute to a friendly and supportive team culture.
This is a permanent job opening which will be based at Milton Park, Abingdon. This will be a flexible part time position ranging from 15hrs – 22.5hrs a week.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Preparation of the monthly reporting pack for review and distribution to the senior members.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring the balance sheet is accurate and all transactions have been accounted for – resolving any issues promptly
- Ownership of sales and purchase ledger, including prep of payment runs – ensuring correct backing documents are provided
- Manage the finance email inbox, ensuring all queries are dealt with appropriately.
- Liaising with project managers to assist with any project related issues
- Prepare Quarterly VAT returns for review and submission
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Methodical and systematic approach to work using own initiative whilst being adept at problem solving
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Good attention to detail
- Excellent IT skills, focused on providing clearly written material for distribution to various internal stakeholders
- Experience of using computerised accounting systems preferably Sage
- Previous experience in a similar role. 1-2 years minimum
- Solid experience with excel
- AAT/CIMA/ACCA studier
