Job Overview

Clinical Support Services Division are seeking to appoint an Assistant General Manager who will aid the General Manager and divisional management team ensuring the delivery of efficient and effective services, including delivery of all operational targets, access targets, financial management, quality of services to patients and the redesign of services towards best practice standards, within available resources. This role offers the successful applicant a unique chance to broaden their knowledge and enhance their professional profile.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide leadership, strategic and professional management combined with operational responsibility for Clinical Support Services Directorates working with the Executive team, Divisional Directors, Locality Directors and other senior managers.

The post holder will provide vision and leadership in the development and implementation of the overall Clinical Support Services agenda.

This role provides direct support to the Clinical Support Services Divisional Director and General Manager in the delivery of the Divisional Agenda and will deputise in the absence of the General Manager.

  • Ability to influence at all levels and a highly strategic thinker
  • Proven ability to achieve targets and objectives within a demanding and pressured environment against challenging deadlines

Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Educated to masters degree or equivalent level of work experience

Desirable criteria

  • Postgraduate management study

Knowledge & experience

Essential criteria

  • Extensive experience of working at a Senior Management role within the NHS
  • Extensive experience of managing waiting lists, component and RTT and patient access principles

Desirable criteria

  • RTT E-learning
