As part of our womenswear design team, the Assistant Designer will provide support in creating elevated, timeless, and commercially successful collections that align with Seasalt’s modern yet enduring aesthetic. You’ll play a key role in research, design development, and execution, ensuring designs are innovative, commercially viable , and crafted to the highest standard.
This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and a proactive approach to supporting the wider team in delivering beautifully considered collections that resonate with our customer.
Please note this role is primarily based in our Falmouth head office , with occasional remote working.

You’ll play a key role in research, design development, and execution, ensuring designs are innovative, commercially viable , and crafted to the highest standard.
This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and a proactive approach to supporting the wider team in delivering beautifully considered collections that resonate with our customer.

You'll help us by:
- Assist ing in the research and development of seasonal mood boards, trend analysis, and fabric direction in line with Seasalt’s handwriting.
- Support ing in c reat i on of designs for multiple woven categories , reflect ing Sea salt’s signature aesthetic, with an emphasis on wearability .
- Support ing the D esign team to translat e design strategy and creative concepts into cohesive, elevated collections.
- Assist ing in sourcing and developing premium, sustainable, and commercially viable fabrications, trims, and finishes.
- Assist ing in researching and implementing sustainable practices across design and development, including circular design principles and waste reduction strategies.
- Creat ing and updat ing CADs and design packs, ensuring accuracy and clarity for development, work ing directly with the supply base.
- Assist ing in fit sessions, sampling, and product refinement, working closely with the D esign and T echnical teams to uphold brand standards.
- Liais ing with suppliers and factories to support the development and execution of samples, ensuring timelines and quality expectations are met.
- Work ing closely with the D esigners, B uying, M erchandising and T echnical teams to ensure seamless product development in line with the critical path.
- Design related degree or qualification
- Knowledge of design methodologies, and design critical thinking.
- Experience of producing CADs, sketches and design packs.
- C onstruction knowledge and ability to successfully realise designs into 2D and 3 D , understanding silhouette and proportion .
- Previous experience within fashion retail.
- Strong creative flair and keen eye for detail .
- Excellent communication and team work skills .
- Proactive with a growth mindset , willing to embrace feedback and develop own skills .

- Salary: £ 28,000 - £30,000 (Band 2)
